John Twin’s light trail
This year I had the chance to revisit the Glory Hole two times. Each visit was an improvement in some way than the last. The cool thing about doing this trip multiple times is that you can learn from your mistakes and try again on your next visit.

pull < paddle
On my last visit with the Glory Hole, we brought a couple hundred feet of rope to tie off at each end. That made it much faster, and safe for the rafting segment of the adventure.
taking a break from the heat
On the first trip back to Glory this year my friend Chester was in town. He and I have stayed in touch over the years through photography and riding, and it was a treat to have him aboard.

Another new dude that came along the trip was Jack. He and his brother had never been, and they made the trip memorable to say the least.. Jack is a rock climber and decided to trek up the cliff so he could jump into the icy water. It was hard to watch him climb, but he pulled it.
flip first try
Aside from Jack’s rock scaling antics, he also decided to flair the pipe. He got it with ease 2nd try. I was actually in such awe that I didn’t really have any time to setup so I shot it with my Canon and it’s on camera flash…
flair at 9 o clock
Jack’s flair was the craziest thing I’ve seen go down at Glory. Both trips were amazing and I can’t wait to go back next year! Some of the pictures in this post are available at Beauty’s Bagels in Oakland for the next 2 months. Go check it out if your in the East Bay!!
