D BLOCK

hang five at pier 7
I decided to go out riding last week with a lighter bag. I left the tripod, lightstand, and 2 flashes at home. I had no intentions on shooting BMX stuff, so I brought my trusted Hasselblad, and 1 strobe. Easy on the back, no stress. After taking a different route to get downtown, I made my way over to the clocktower and D Block was there and wanted to go ride around. Since I didn’t have all the normal gear I lug around when I shoot BMX stuff, I had to rethink how I was going to shoot the pictures.

180 first try

I found a street sign to rest my flash on to shoot this one. Having less gear keeps you on your toes. Photography can be just as freestyle as BMX. I think thats parts of the reason why I love it so much.
