A couple weeks back I went out with Terry and Kyle to shoot BMX stuff. A big part of the reason I joined up with FFC is that most everyone who contributes here shoots entirely different stuff than I’ve been accustomed to. Artificial lighting has been completely foreign to me. In that regard, shooting with new people and under new circumstances is greatly appealing as I continue to round out the repertoire. The shot above was one of my first few attempts at shooting with strobes.
It need not be mentioned that Cubby is a bad motherfucker. We initially went to Ocean Beach with an idea I’d had in the back of my head for the last year or so. That first trip to OB went well but a subsequent visit proved much more fruitful. Check back for a post on that visit.
After moving away from the beach and into Golden Gate Park, Terry convinced Kyle to get after this gap. We set up the strobes, fooled with framing our shots and then Kyle made this (his only attempt) look easy as hell. Well done, dude.
